Probable Cause

THE DTSB

The DTSB determines the Probable Cause of this accident to be Pilot Error, in that the accident pilot did allow his aircraft to operate significantly below DMMS, and at a bank angle greater than 30 degrees, whereupon the aircraft did stall and enter an aerodynamic spin at a very low altitude. The accident pilot was closely following another aircraft of the same type at the time of the loss of control.

NTSB

None yet (final report not yet published).

Recommendation

THE DTSB

The DTSB recommends that all pilots of all aircraft rehearse and condition themselves to be aware of, and honor DMMS, and observe a max bank angle of 30 degrees when operating below a safe recovery altitude.
