Probable Cause

THE DTSB

The DTSB determines the Probable cause of this accident to be Pilot Error, in that the accident pilot did enter an intentional inverted flat spin from an altitude too low to effect a full recovery. The on board parachute was not useable from this altitude. The accident occurred during airshow aerobatic practice.

NTSB

None yet (final report not yet published).

Recommendation

THE DTSB

The DTSB recommends that all pilots of all aerobatic aircraft performing intentional aerobatics, practice up much higher and allow safer margins for recovery from these type maneuvers.
