Probable Cause

THE DTSB

Pending. Accident aircraft pilot departed from runway 29 against flow of traffic at KLMO, causing a Cessna 172 on base, N927TS, to divert. Aircraft did not respond to repeated calls from 172 pilot. On departing the pattern, the 172 pilot commented “There’s someone on upwind for 29 who’s being really dangerous”. The accident aircraft flew an almost 3 hour erratic path around mountainous terrain before impacting directly into the face of rising terrain. His passenger was his three year old daughter. Lat/long position is accurate.

NTSB
