Probable Cause

THE DTSB

The DTSB determines the Probable Cause of this accident to be Pilot Error, in that the accident was alerted by radio concerning a turtle on the runway. The aircraft landed approximately 1400 feet down the 2400 foot runway before it maneuvered to avoid hitting the turtle with the right tire, the aircraft then attempted to go around but was out of available runway and raised the nose excessively, inducing an aerodynamic stall.

Recommendation

THE DTSB

The DTSB recommends that all pilots of all aircraft rehearse and condition themselves to be able to perform timely go arounds, and be committed to landing at a certain point during the landing.
